Raven made her first comic book appearance in DC Comics Presents #26, published in 1980. The character, created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, has become well-known for her long-standing tenure with the Teen Titans. The demon-human hybrid has fought with and against her teammates and earned the respect— and disrespect— of several DC characters.

10 Respect Her: Starfire
Raven and Starfire share a long history as members of the Teen Titans.The latter was implanted by the good part of Raven's soul after the Trigon-possessed Cambion interrupted her wedding to Nightwing. Thanks to Starfire, the real Raven was eventually reborn.
Starfire and Raven are close friends. The Tamaranean has a great deal of respect for her powerful teammate.

Raven initially tried to join the Justice League before finding her way to the Teen Titans. Zatanna, sensing Raven's demonic heritage, advised the team to reject her.
Raven has proved herself as a superhero, but her connection to Trigon remains a vulnerability. Zatanna, an accomplished magician, recognized the potential threat that Raven was.

Beast Boy is another long-term member of the Teen Titans. He has fought with and against Raven in the comics.These two have been romantically involved, and Gar remains one of the demon-human hybrid's primary love interests.
Raven and Garfield share a tender relationship that has been adapted for various live-action mediums. Their romance in the comics is much more complicated, butit is evident that Beast Boy thinks rather highly of her.
7 Don't Respect Her: Trigon
Trigon is the demonic father of Raven, who conceived the Cambion with a human mother named Arella. Throughout comic book history, Trigon has attempted to possess his daughter and destroy the world. Raven resists Trigon's influence, turning away from her dark parentage and leading a more heroic life.

Cyborg is also a long-standing member of the Teen Titans. He shares a close bond with Raven as the team regards themselves as a family.
Raven and Cyborg both see themselves as outcasts, and bond over their mutual rejection from conventional society. Raven helps Cyborg reunite with his soul after retrieving his consciousness while in spirit form. She stands by her friend after he loses his humanity and is almost taken down by the Justice League.

Brother Blood is a DC villain who has fought against the Teen Titans for most of his comic book history. The villain manipulated Raven's powers and attempted to marry her to fulfill a prophecy that predicted the end of the world.
Brother Blood and his evil cult of followers are some of Raven and the Titans' primary antagonists. Like Trigon, the villain has tried to capitalize on the unprecedented potential of Raven's powers.
4 Respect Her: Dick Grayson
Dick Grayson is the original leader of the Teen Titans. He shares a strong relationship with his fellow team members, and has been a mentor and a friend to Raven.

Raven once inadvertently used her powers to manipulate Dick into believing he was in love with her. But she quickly came to her senses and gained control over her empathic abilities.
3 Don't Respect Her: Arthur Light
Arthur Light, another well-known enemy of the Teen Titans, has faced off against Raven several times in the comics and animated TV shows. The villain has underestimated the Cambion, however, who defeated him in combat.
Arthur Light's character has been adapted for both the animated Teen Titans show and its live-action counterpart. In the former, Raven overwhelmed the villain with her demonic powers while consumedby Trigon's influence.
2 Respect Her: Tim Drake
Dick Grayson isn't the only Robin to fight beside Raven; Tim Drake has allied with the Cambion in the past, with both characters serving as members of the Titans.
Tim and Raven grew closer after DC's Rebirth. The Red Robin has proved himself to be a valuable comrade, and inspired Raven to embrace a potential leadership role.

Blackfire is another archrival of the Teen Titans, though she has primarily antagonized her sister, Starfire, throughout her history. Nevertheless, the evil Tamaranean has proved herself a formidable foe, and holds little love and respect for Raven.
Blackfire's arrogance causes her to overlook Raven and the Titans. Despite this, they have been instrumental in helping Starfire overcome her sad*stic sister. Raven proves Blackfire and the other DC villains wrong as she fights for the greater good alongside her friends.
