Peppermint Holidog Christmas Dog Treat Recipe (2024)

It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas! I’ve got a new recipe, hot out of the oven and just in time for the holidogs! Spread the joy of the season with this Peppermint Holidog Christmas Dog Treat Recipe. Perfect for parties and gifts (for dogs only, of course), this treat features a hint of peppermint. I’ve used the extract for my cookies, but feel free to use the fresh stuff. Peppermint is safe for your dog to eat and is believed to be beneficial in treating stomach problems.

Kiss Me This Christmas And Call Me Yours Forever

It’s the holiday season, so of course, you want to smooch on your pooch. The problem is, your pup’s bad breath may not be the stuff visions sugarplums dancing are made of. In fact, with all the holiday sweets and treats our dogs are bound to get because it just makes us feel jolly to do so, their plaque-buildup and bad breath may be at all-time record levels.

Which is one of the reasons we love this recipe so much. Mint makes everything better, and the mint in the treats will give a nice, light flavor that your dog will love, and his breath will love better. Peppermint in appropriate quantities can bring vitality to your pup, and freshen their breath in one fell swoop. Plus, it’s a game-changer when holiday tummy troubles plague your pooch.

Similar can be said for the molasses in these treats. Molasses is a healthy ingredient dogs love the taste of. It’s rich in important minerals like iron and potassium–both help your dog maintain healthy blood pressures and nice, strong bones. Molasses is also a great source of B Vitamins like Pyridoxine (B6). B6 helps support your dog’s cellular function and metabolism, good health starts in your dog’s gut. In essence, you’re giving your dogs sweet treats that are good for them, and since you’re making them with love? They’re the best treats ever.

So, pull out the ingredients (don’t forget the fun cookie cutters–dogs notice details, you know) and get to baking.

Dog-Friendly Holiday Parties

Are you planning to celebrate the holiday season with friends and family? If so, you may be looking for ways to incorporate your furry friend into the fun. After all, they are part of the family too! Host a party that is fun and stress-free for everyone involved with these party planning tips.

Include Gifts for Fido Under the Tree

When you’re wrapping up gifts for your loved ones, don’t forget the pups. Many dogs enjoy tearing open the paper on gifts, and they will be even more excited when they discover that they are revealing a favorite treat or toy. Make sure that this is only done under supervision and all paper is cleaned up so that the dogs don’t eat it.

Bark-Worthy Buffet Table

Set up a buffet table with a variety of different dog-friendly treats for your guests to enjoy. Some ideas for your buffet include fresh fruit such as blueberries or apple slices, crunch vegetables like carrots and broccoli, and, of course, your homemade Peppermint Holidog Christmas Dog Treats! Don’t forget to leave some doggy bags so that the dogs can take home some goodies.

Photo Shoot

Put out some adorable dog-friendly photo props and a festive backdrop so that your guests can snap holiday photos of their dogs. For larger parties, create a hashtag and encourage your guests to use it when sharing the pictures that they take.

Do you ever bake your dog special treats for the holidays? Come on, I can’t be the only one! Do me a favor – try making these treats for yourself and post the results on our Facebook page. I can’t wait to see them!
